Our Story
Who is the Groom?
Casey
Casey was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. From a young age, he had a passion for the outdoors, nature, and adventure. Following his curiosity, he pursued a Bachelor's in Geology and Geoscience at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. During his time at UW he was given the opportunity to travel extensively, including spending a summer in the Australian Outback conducting field research. After graduating, Casey joined a Research Lab focused on developing software for Geoscientists, where he developed his love for software development. After teaching himself to code, Casey transitioned his career into Software Engineering and began his career at Audible. His love of learning didn't stop with his career--Casey has a certificate in Telugu following his completion of courses through UPenn and continues to develop his ability to read, write, and speak. When he's not coding, or reading, he can be found reading, hiking, and planning his next travel adventure.
Who is the Bride?
Sadhana
Sadhana (Sadhu) was born in Hyderabad and moved to the US at a young age. Growing up in Madison, Wisconsin she completed her bachelor’s at UW-Madison in Political Science and Economics. Moving to New York City she completed a master’s in International Finance and Economic Policy & Quantitative Analytics at Columbia University. During her time at Columbia, she completed a dual Masters degree in Berlin, Germany at the Hertie School of Governance where she received an Masters in Public Policy in International Trade and Technical Policy. She now resides in New York City and works for the Federal Reserve Bank of New York where she regulates Digital Assets. When she’s not travelling, she can be found baking, forcing her friends into increasingly complicated book clubs, and taking on new and exciting hobbies.
How They Met
One day while studying hard in his college apartment bedroom, Casey heard his roommate speaking with some friends. Taking a break from his work, he poked his head out to find Sadhana standing there! Immediately struck by her wit and charm, Casey was eager to get to know Sadhana. They quickly discovered they had a lot in common, and ... the rest is history! Bonding over their mutual love of travel, dogs, and Lord of the Rings, their friendship blossomed into a relationship that has taken them across the world together.
Growing Together
Casey and Sadhana's relationship grew over the years, across cities and continents. From Wisconsin, to New York City, to Berlin, and now back to NYC. Together they have had many adventures, and shared countless memories. These two globe trotters explored over 15 countries across 4 continents together including an unforgettable trip to Kenya where they went on safari in the Masai Mara.
The Proposal
Casey proposed to Sadhana on a scenic mountainside overlooking Lake Lungern, a picturesque lake just outside of Lauterbrunnen Valley in Switzerland. The surprise engagement was the culmination of weeks of planning and coordination to capture the perfect moment.
